The Waynflete Fund
Charitable gifts to the Waynflete Fund are a critical part of the school’s annual operating budget. Income generated by fundraising, revenue from tuition and programs, and distributions from the school’s endowment together support Waynflete’s annual operating budget. Tax-deductible gifts to the Waynflete Fund are put to use immediately and have a direct and critical impact on every student’s experience.
Fueling our mission
Waynflete’s mission drives everything that we do, and it is what makes a Waynflete education exceptional. A for-profit business can cut costs through consolidation and streamlining. To employ these strategies at a mission-driven school like Waynflete would require reducing the size of our faculty or combining classrooms. This would diminish our ability to provide the individual attention and quality of education that everyone expects for a Waynflete student.
Making a Waynflete education affordable for as many families as possible is also a key tenet of the school’s philosophy. The increase in tuition rates that would be necessary to fully fund our current program would further limit the number of families who could afford to attend. This decrease in enrollment would have a negative effect on the number of programs we could continue to offer.
Increasing opportunities
Every dollar contributed to the Waynflete Fund helps ensure that our students have increased opportunities in the sciences, 艺术, 体育运动, outdoor education, and service learning; that the school has a robust financial aid budget to enroll qualified students; that our faculty salaries are more competitive; and that our teachers have the professional development opportunities and classroom resources they need.
Demonstrating confidence
We ask everyone to consider a donation at a level that feels personally significant and meaningful. Some donors give $25 while others give $25,000. Participation by everyone, at any level, is important. High participation rates demonstrate confidence in our mission and help us secure funding from other sources, like foundations.
Waynflete’s annual giving program, the Waynflete Fund, is the foundation of our fundraising efforts. For a mission-driven institution like Waynflete, annual gifts provide opportunities for students beyond what is possible with tuition alone.
